We provide cost estimating as a primary service to Owners, Architects, and Engineers. Our highly- qualified cost estimating staff has expertise in architectural, landscape, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.  A noteworthy point is the fact that most of our estimators have worked together for the past 20 years!

Cost Estimating Approach

HCM believes the best approach to cost estimating is based on the early establishment of a project budget by the owner and the A/E. Using our extensive database, HCM produces detailed quantity takeoffs for projects at the order of magnitude or conceptual design phase, basing the takeoff on the project’s individual components. At progressive stages during design, the A/E provides the design documents to the estimator. All components are priced individually by labor, material/equipment and local subcontractor costs.

The expertise and background of HCM’s estimators coupled with HCM’s standard estimating methodology, result in estimates that are typically within 5% of the bid and are consistently more accurate than industry standards.
